Lyons Stonework managed the project from start to finish. This included matching stone, conducting condition assessments, planning the works, templating, scheduling, cutting, shaping, and refixing the stone on site.
We sourced local gritstone to match the existing masonry, transporting 5-tonne blocks to our Ramsbottom yard. Masons used templates for precise measurements and cutting lists were sent to the saw shop for processing. Banker masons shaped the tracery by hand, and the finished masonry was installed by fixer masons on site. The entire process was completed in-house without external contractors.
“I was lucky enough this week to see the sun shining through all three stained glass windows and admire the colors and stonework, which was truly splendid,” said Davie MacAllan, Chair of the Brindle Buildings Committee.
